i need YOU, kids

I have all kinds of things that I want to write about, but almost all of them involve pictures.  Pictures that I don't have with me right now.  Which means I can't write them right now.  [Well, I guess I could write them, but I wouldn't be able to post them, so what's the point, eh?]

Anyways.  Today I just have a question.  A question I really want to know the answer to.

I bought Thank-You cards for all things wedding-related a few weeks ago, but since school started I just haven't had the time to write in them.  Or consequently, send them to anyone.  I am planning to block aside some time for it this weekend, but I would just like to know...

What is a good [or a bad] amount of time in which to send Thank-You cards?

I know in the South, there is some sort of unwritten rule on this that everybody just somehow knows inherently or something.

But what is good etiquette on this, people?

I got married on August 5th.  Today is September 14.  Too short?  Too long?

I would be horrified if anyone thought I wasn't thankful for all of their help/time/gifts, because I totally am.

And ok, ok, since you asked....

...another wedding photo.

Ok so no one actually asked for this.  But I'm sure it's what you all were hoping for, right?  ...Right?

p.s.  Ok one more question.  I keep hearing lately that so many people hate kissing pictures.  I actually can't even fathom that, because I love looking at kissing pictures.  I just think they're so romantic.   [Usually, anyway.]  I think that when people hate kissing pictures, it's akin to hating Disneyland or furry animals or chocolate or something.  Thoughts?

i think you should draw stick figures of people kissing on thank you cards and mail them out whenever the hezz you want. But seriously...i don't think anyone cares when you get them out, and i don't think you should care if they care. Just write them when you have time and mail them out. Maybe as a good rule of thumb think to yourself, "as long as i mail them out in less time than it takes k. hawkes to return her library books, i'm in the clear." that oughta buy you some time.

p.s. the word is "apees." bahaha

My husbands family are really anal about thank you cards and his grandma was actually telling his whole family how horrible it was I hadn't gotten them out after less that 2 month! And we had just moved across country when we got married! But I guess his grandma is a bit on the crazy side. But usually I think etiquette is 6-9 months..I think

Haha! I think kissing pictures can be very sweet when done in taste. :) and I wish I could help with the thank you notes, but I would have no idea...

My family expected them done within a month so I did thiers but honestly....the rest are still sitting here 9 months later....Hahahahahaha

I say send them to the ones you know will be offended if they dont get one and then you can worry about the other ones later ;)

I have no idea on the thank you cards...and apparently none of your readers are from the south? Haha. We need to find someone who knows these things! Also, I'm so glad you remembered that I asked for more wedding photos! ;) Just kidding. But I do love it and always want to see more! And I can't believe that some people don't like kissing photos. Of course they can be nasty sometimes but wedding day ones are almost always ADORABLE!

For some reason I felt like waiting longer than 3 months was too long, which is why I did mine at 2.5. I just googled it though, and Ehow told me you only have 2 to 4 weeks. So...

And about kissing pictures, I like em. Sometimes I don't LOVE when they are the main pic on a wedding invite, but that's just me.

Well, I got married in December, and didn't get my cards out until March . . . so, I'm probably a bad example. Ha ha. I think that as long as you do them, you're fine. But, I'm a pretty informal person. So maybe it varies?

Also. I love cute kissing pictures. Just not the nasty you-should-probably-just-get-a-room type.

Annnd. You are gorgeous.

I say if anyone has a problem with whatever you love then that's THEIR problem.

I love kissy pictures. Especially since when when we all get older they wont be quite as cute anymore! ;)

Oh and Thank yous... 6-9 months.
